About Attend Anywhere

• Attend Anywhere is a secure NHS video call service for people with pre-arranged appointments only. 
• Health in Mind, the East Sussex NHS Talking Therapies Service use Attend Anywhere to deliver consultations with you online via a video call. 
• Video calling is as convenient as a phone call, with the added value of face-to-face communication. 
• It can save you time and money, and brings your care closer to home.

Where do I go to attend my appointment?

• Instead of travelling to your appointment, you enter the clinic's online waiting area. 
• You will have been sent information about the date and time of your video appointment and a link to the Health in Mind Waiting Area you need to access. Please use the link provided in the most recent communication from the Health in Mind team.
• Five minutes before your appointment time, select the waiting area you have been asked to use. 
• You will be taken through a series of steps to ensure that your equipment is set up correctly. 
• Once the steps have been completed, you will be prompted to enter your name and telephone number and accept the terms and conditions. This information is not stored beyond the length of the video call.
• Once these steps have been followed, click on the 'Start Call' button and you will enter the appropriate waiting room until your consultation begins. You will see yourself on the video and hear music. The waiting room is private and you will not see other patients.
• When your clinician joins the call, your image will shrink and move to the corner of the screen and you will see your clinician. 
• The video call is free (except your internet usage charge) and data is not used whilst you are in the waiting room. 

What do I need to make a video call?

• A good connection to the internet - if you can watch a video online (e.g. YouTube) you can make a video call.
• A private, well-lit area where you will not be disturbed during the consultation
• PC, Mac or an iOS/Android device, using a Google Chrome (for PC/Mac/all mobile devices)/Apple Safari (for Macs and iOS devices) browser. Attend Anywhere will not work on Internet Explorer. Download Google Chrome or Safari for free.
• Web-camera, speakers and microphone already built into laptops or mobile devices

Is it secure?

Video calls are secure; your privacy is protected - You have your own private video room that only authorised clinicians can enter.

How much internet data will I use?

An Attend Anywhere video call only uses as much data as your normal internet connection and is similar amount of data when using to Skype or Facetime. 

How much does a video call cost?

The video call is free (except for your internet usage)

Smartphone and tablet users

If you can, connect to a home or work Wi-Fi network to avoid using your mobile data allowance.

How to make your online video appointment a good experience:

• Please make sure you have a private space and you won't be interrupted
• If possible, we recommend using earphones or headphones
• If possible, we recommend using a PC or laptop rather than a mobile device
• Please remove any distractions such as turning off your phone, TV, radio, music devices. This is to help you and your therapist fully concentrate on what you are there to do
• Please be aware that this is an NHS appointment to provide a therapeutic intervention so it is important to attend in the way you would at a clinic. Please therefore:
• Dress appropriately
• Do not smoke, vape or eat during the session
• Do not drink alcohol or use non-prescribed substances before or during the session
