About your appointment with Health in Mind;
your local NHS Talking Therapies Service

Taking care of your emotional health is important, and by making a referral to our service and attending appointments you are making important steps to improve your emotional wellbeing.

At your first appointment you will have what is called an assessment. This is a conversation and an opportunity to tell us what's going on for you and to better understand you and your situation and decide the next steps together.

In other appointments, you will be able to have a more focussed discussion with a Health in Mind clinical team member, looking at ways you can practically improve your emotional health now and in the future.

Many people, who have used our service before have told us that speaking to one of our team, and feeling heard and understood, made a huge difference to them.

But don't just take our word for it, here's what people who have used Health in Mind Talking Therapies Service have said about our service...

“I was nervous, but I needn’t have been. After decades of pain and worry I am now able to understand my situation and finally feel that I can actually start to move forward again.”

“I hate to think where I would be if I hadn’t reached out. I can honestly say that working with you has made me look at life again with a positive attitude and enjoy everything I have.”

"It's no exaggeration to say that you helped save my life. You really listened and you made me feel heard and understood which was so incredibly powerful and helpful in my recovery."

“I feel in a much better place and more able to deal with life’s ups and downs”

"Everyone has made me feel completely comfortable when asking for help. Thank you."

I am so grateful for the support I received, it was informative and helped to not only deal with my problems but also understand why I was feeling the way I was and that it was something many people had struggled with and was normal."

"Everyone has made me feel completely comfortable when asking for help. Thank you."

"The administration staff were very polite prompt professional and did everything they could to help me with my appointments. Everyone I have spoken to has been kind, caring and understanding"

We look forward to meeting you, learning more about you and seeing how we might be able to help.
